About the Annenberg Digital Lounge

The Digital Lounge is a creative makerspace where the Annenberg community can learn to experiment with the digital tools they receive as part of the Digital Literacy Initiative. We’re located on the third floor of Wallis Annenberg Hall, located right in the heart of campus. The DL was designed to foster creativity, collaboration and media. Through our workshops, helpdesk, and certification courses, we aim to empower students to create and learn, no prior experience needed. From audio to video, to interactivity and the web, we want to make these tools approachable and fun for all!

To get an idea of our full resources, check out our service portfolio. If you’d like to know more about how we created the Digital Lounge, check out our media press kit.

Our student helpdesk (a.k.a. “Genius Bar”) was sponsored by Paul J. Richardson, Chief Diversity Officer at the Walt Disney Company and Senior VP of Human Resources at ESPN. Leveraging USC talent, we’ve worked hard to create a diverse team of Media Specialists with expertise in across creative technologies. Members of the Annenberg community can roll-up with their devices to receive one-on-one assistance.

We’re the opposite of an old school library — we play music and want you to talk out loud to your neighbor. So, if you’re looking for a place to hang out and make things, we are your home away from home. We feature moving furniture, monitors, and whiteboards throughout the space to foster creativity and collaboration. What better place to work on a project than one where help is just a few steps away!

The Lab (ANN 301D) is our certification course and workshop space, where you can roll up with your own machine and dig into a project or piece of software. We host a variety of events and workshops that are open to the Annenberg community. In addition, we host 10-week Adobe certification courses every semester. Please check out our calendar for an up-to-date schedule.
